<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The designing of network update algorithms is urgent for the development of SDN control software. A particular case of Network Update Problem is that of restoring seamlessly a given network configuration after some packet forwarding rules have been disabled (say, at the expiry of their time-outs). We study this problem in the framework of a formal model of SDN, develop correct and safe network recovering algorithms, and show that in general case there is no way to restore network configuration seamlessly without referring to priorities of packet forwarding rules.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>программно-конфигурируемая сеть</kwd><kwd>коммутатор</kwd><kwd>контроллер</kwd><kwd>правило коммутации</kwd><kwd>пакет</kwd><kwd>реконфигурация</kwd><kwd>маршрут</kwd><kwd>постусловие</kwd><kwd>инвариант</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>software defined network</kwd><kwd>switch</kwd><kwd>controller</kwd><kwd>forwarding rule</kwd><kwd>packet</kwd><kwd>network update</kwd><kwd>route</kwd><kwd>post-condition</kwd><kwd>invariant</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">РФФИ, фонд «Сколково»</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">McKeown N., Anderson T., Balakrishnan H., et al.
